CVE-2017-7889 4 Canonical, Debian, Linux and 1 more 6 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Linux Kernel and 3 more 2025-04-20 7.8 High
The mm subsystem in the Linux kernel through 3.2 does not properly enforce the CONFIG_STRICT_DEVMEM protection mechanism, which allows local users to read or write to kernel memory locations in the first megabyte (and bypass slab-allocation access restrictions) via an application that opens the /dev/mem file, related to arch/x86/mm/init.c and drivers/char/mem.c.
CVE-2017-16895 1 Arqbackup 1 Arq 2025-04-20 7.8 High
The (1) arq_updater, (2) arqcommitter, (3) standardrestorer, (4) arqglacierrestorer, and (5) arqs3glacierrestorer helper apps in Arq 5.x before 5.10 for Mac allow local users to gain root privileges via a crafted data packet.
CVE-2017-2115 1 Cybozu 1 Office 2025-04-20 N/A
Cybozu Office 10.0.0 to 10.5.0 allows remote authenticated attackers to bypass access restriction to obtain "customapp" information via unspecified vectors.
CVE-2017-0831 1 Google 1 Android 2025-04-20 N/A
An elevation of privilege vulnerability in the Android framework (window manager). Product: Android. Versions: 8.0. Android ID: A-37442941.
CVE-2017-16882 1 Icinga 1 Icinga 2025-04-20 N/A
Icinga Core through 1.14.0 initially executes bin/icinga as root but supports configuration options in which this file is owned by a non-root account (and similarly can have etc/icinga.cfg owned by a non-root account), which allows local users to gain privileges by leveraging access to this non-root account, a related issue to CVE-2017-14312. This also affects bin/icingastats, bin/ido2db, and bin/log2ido.
CVE-2017-16834 1 Pnp4nagios 1 Pnp4nagios 2025-04-20 N/A
PNP4Nagios through 0.6.26 has /usr/bin/npcd and npcd.cfg owned by an unprivileged account but root code execution depends on these files, which allows local users to gain privileges by leveraging access to this unprivileged account.
CVE-2017-8856 1 Veritas 2 Netbackup, Netbackup Appliance 2025-04-20 N/A
In Veritas NetBackup 8.0 and earlier and NetBackup Appliance 3.0 and earlier, there is unauthenticated, arbitrary remote command execution using the 'bprd' process.
CVE-2017-16757 1 Hola 1 Vpn 2025-04-20 N/A
Hola VPN 1.34 has weak permissions (Everyone:F) under %PROGRAMFILES%, which allows local users to gain privileges via a Trojan horse 7za.exe or hola.exe file.
CVE-2017-7850 1 Tenable 1 Nessus 2025-04-20 N/A
Nessus 6.10.x before 6.10.5 was found to be vulnerable to a local privilege escalation issue due to insecure permissions when running in Agent Mode.
CVE-2017-16754 1 Boltcms 1 Bolt 2025-04-20 N/A
Bolt before 3.3.6 does not properly restrict access to _profiler routes, related to EventListener/ProfilerListener.php and Provider/EventListenerServiceProvider.php.
CVE-2017-6356 1 Paloaltonetworks 1 Terminal Services Agent 2025-04-20 5.3 Medium
Palo Alto Networks Terminal Services (aka TS) Agent 6.0, 7.0, and 8.0 before 8.0.1 uses weak permissions for unspecified resources, which allows attackers to obtain sensitive session information via unknown vectors.
CVE-2017-6338 1 Trendmicro 1 Interscan Web Security Virtual Appliance 2025-04-20 N/A
Multiple Access Control issues in Trend Micro InterScan Web Security Virtual Appliance (IWSVA) 6.5 before CP 1746 allow an authenticated, remote user with low privileges like 'Reports Only' or 'Auditor' to change FTP Access Control Settings, create or modify reports, or upload an HTTPS Decryption Certificate and Private Key.
CVE-2017-16933 1 Icinga 1 Icinga 2025-04-20 N/A
etc/initsystem/prepare-dirs in Icinga 2.x through 2.8.1 has a chown call for a filename in a user-writable directory, which allows local users to gain privileges by leveraging access to the $ICINGA2_USER account for creation of a link.
CVE-2017-3006 2 Adobe, Microsoft 2 Creative Cloud, Windows 2025-04-20 N/A
Adobe Thor versions 3.9.5.353 and earlier have a vulnerability related to the use of improper resource permissions during the installation of Creative Cloud desktop applications.
CVE-2016-5411 1 Redhat 2 Enterprise Linux, Quickstart Cloud Installer 2025-04-20 N/A
/var/lib/ovirt-engine/setup/engine-DC-config.py in Red Hat QuickStart Cloud Installer (QCI) before 1.0 GA is created world readable and contains the root password of the deployed system.
CVE-2016-4984 2 Openldap, Redhat 2 Openldap-servers, Enterprise Linux 2025-04-20 N/A
/usr/libexec/openldap/generate-server-cert.sh in openldap-servers sets weak permissions for the TLS certificate, which allows local users to obtain the TLS certificate by leveraging a race condition between the creation of the certificate, and the chmod to protect it.
CVE-2016-3112 2 Pulpproject, Redhat 3 Pulp, Satellite, Satellite Capsule 2025-04-20 N/A
client/consumer/cli.py in Pulp before 2.8.3 writes consumer private keys to etc/pki/pulp/consumer/consumer-cert.pem as world-readable, which allows remote authenticated users to obtain the consumer private keys and escalate privileges by reading /etc/pki/pulp/consumer/consumer-cert, and authenticating as a consumer user.
CVE-2017-9792 1 Apache 1 Impala 2025-04-20 N/A
In Apache Impala (incubating) before 2.10.0, a malicious user with "ALTER" permissions on an Impala table can access any other Kudu table data by altering the table properties to make it "external" and then changing the underlying table mapping to point to other Kudu tables. This violates and works around the authorization requirement that creating a Kudu external table via Impala requires an "ALL" privilege at the server scope. This privilege requirement for "CREATE" commands is enforced to precisely avoid this scenario where a malicious user can change the underlying Kudu table mapping. The fix is to enforce the same privilege requirement for "ALTER" commands that would make existing non-external Kudu tables external.
CVE-2017-9780 2 Debian, Flatpak 2 Debian Linux, Flatpak 2025-04-20 N/A
In Flatpak before 0.8.7, a third-party app repository could include malicious apps that contain files with inappropriate permissions, for example setuid or world-writable. The files are deployed with those permissions, which would let a local attacker run the setuid executable or write to the world-writable location. In the case of the "system helper" component, files deployed as part of the app are owned by root, so in the worst case they could be setuid root.
CVE-2017-9136 1 Mimosa 2 Backhaul Radios, Client Radios 2025-04-20 N/A
An issue was discovered on Mimosa Client Radios before 2.2.3. In the device's web interface, there is a page that allows an attacker to use an unsanitized GET parameter to download files from the device as the root user. The attacker can download any file from the device's filesystem. This can be used to view unsalted, MD5-hashed administrator passwords, which can then be cracked, giving the attacker full admin access to the device's web interface. This vulnerability can also be used to view the plaintext pre-shared key (PSK) for encrypted wireless connections, or to view the device's serial number (which allows an attacker to factory reset the device).
