| Discourse is an open-source discussion platform. Prior to versions `3.3.4` on the `stable` branch and `3.4.0.beta5` on the `beta` branch, someone who is about to reach the limit of users in a group DM may send requests to add new users in parallel. The requests might all go through ignoring the limit due to a race condition. The patch in versions `3.3.4` and `3.4.0.beta5` uses the `lock` step in service to wrap part of the `add_users_to_channel` service inside a distributed lock/mutex in order to avoid the race condition. |
| A flaw was found in rsync. This vulnerability arises from a race condition during rsync's handling of symbolic links. Rsync's default behavior when encountering symbolic links is to skip them. If an attacker replaced a regular file with a symbolic link at the right time, it was possible to bypass the default behavior and traverse symbolic links. Depending on the privileges of the rsync process, an attacker could leak sensitive information, potentially leading to privilege escalation. |

The qxl_mode_dumb_create() function dereferences the qobj returned by the qxl_gem_object_create_with_handle(), but the handle is the only one holding a reference to it. This flaw allows an attacker to guess the returned handle value and trigger a use-after-free issue, potentially leading to a denial of service or privilege escalation. |

This issue occurs when two threads execute the GSMIOC_SETCONF ioctl on the same tty file descriptor with the gsm line discipline enabled, and can lead to a use-after-free problem on a struct gsm_dlci while restarting the gsm mux. This could allow a local unprivileged user to escalate their privileges on the system. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bus: mhi: host: Fix race between unprepare and queue_buf
A client driver may use mhi_unprepare_from_transfer() to quiesce
incoming data during the client driver's tear down. The client driver
might also be processing data at the same time, resulting in a call to
mhi_queue_buf() which will invoke mhi_gen_tre(). If mhi_gen_tre() runs
after mhi_unprepare_from_transfer() has torn down the channel, a panic
will occur due to an invalid dereference leading to a page fault.
This occurs because mhi_gen_tre() does not verify the channel state
after locking it. Fix this by having mhi_gen_tre() confirm the channel
state is valid, or return error to avoid accessing deinitialized data.

There are two issues related to the mapping of pages belonging to other
domains: For one, an assertion is wrong there, where the case actually
needs handling. A NULL pointer de-reference could result on a release
build. This is CVE-2025-58144.
And then the P2M lock isn't held until a page reference was actually
obtained (or the attempt to do so has failed). Otherwise the page can
not only change type, but even ownership in between, thus allowing
domain boundaries to be violated. This is CVE-2025-58145. |
| Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition') vulnerability in Apache Tomcat when using the APR/Native connector. This was particularly noticeable with client initiated closes of HTTP/2 connections.
This issue affects Apache Tomcat: from 9.0.0.M1 through 9.0.106.
The following versions were EOL at the time the CVE was created but are
known to be affected: 8.5.0 through 8.5.100. Other, older, EOL versions
may also be affected.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 9.0.107, which fixes the issue. |

| An attacker can make the Node.js HTTP/2 server completely unavailable by sending a small amount of HTTP/2 frames packets with a few HTTP/2 frames inside. It is possible to leave some data in nghttp2 memory after reset when headers with HTTP/2 CONTINUATION frame are sent to the server and then a TCP connection is abruptly closed by the client triggering the Http2Session destructor while header frames are still being processed (and stored in memory) causing a race condition. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tls: fix race between tx work scheduling and socket close
Similarly to previous commit, the submitting thread (recvmsg/sendmsg)
may exit as soon as the async crypto handler calls complete().
Reorder scheduling the work before calling complete().
This seems more logical in the first place, as it's
the inverse order of what the submitting thread will do. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tls: fix race between async notify and socket close
The submitting thread (one which called recvmsg/sendmsg)
may exit as soon as the async crypto handler calls complete()
so any code past that point risks touching already freed data.
Try to avoid the locking and extra flags altogether.
Have the main thread hold an extra reference, this way
we can depend solely on the atomic ref counter for
synchronization.
Don't futz with reiniting the completion, either, we are now
tightly controlling when completion fires. |
